Because....




You can have all the tactics in the world, but here's the thing....


A tactic can change. 


A loophole can be filled.


A hack can suddenly stop working.


An algorithm can change.


And strategies?


They're great, but things change and sometimes your strategy needs a drastic shift due to an internal misalignment, something no longer getting the results it once did, or maybe it's just not where you want your business to be....


Ya know what NEVER changes though?


Yep, (hopefully this was glaringly obvious)...


Principles.


What's your philosophy on life and business?


What don't you want to do to build your business?


What could you do without pay and never ruin the fun of it?


What brings you energy and what lowers your energy?


What will you tolerate and what won't you tolerate?


In my world, these cover a range of things.


I love to have fun.


I don't take myself too seriously.


I prefer profits over problems.


I don't tolerate energy vampires and will remove these people from my life faster than the speed of sound - no exceptions.


I love helping people.


I love seeing folks succeed.


I refuse to work with entitled people.


I refuse to work with people who can't play the long game and want instant results.


I don't want a full calendar.


I love writing.


I love strategising.


I love solving problems and using my 13+ years of experience to give people clear pathways.


My principles underpin my strategies which underpin my tactics.


Another one of my principles is I don’t allow advertisers to advertise in my newsletter unless I know it will bring value to my readers.

Principles are also synonymous with Fundamentals in my world.


Sales, Marketing, Branding, Offering Creation, Copywriting...


Most of it is pinned on the predictable nature of us all.


Our psychology doesn't change and most like never will (for our lifetimes at least).


So if you want to build a sustainable business, consider what principles you stand for, what strategies align with those principles and what tactics you'll deploy that align with those.


Then, you'll have a long term business you'll love to run.

  • New content I’d need to make

    Unlike the brochures suggested, you couldn’t just chuck on an ad and let it ride. You’d have to test the heck out of everything.

  • Testing you’d need to do

    See above….The tests were crazy and varied. Always looking to adjust the data to get the best outcome and ROI.

  • Market research I’d do

    I’d spend hours researching, going into forums, looking at individual profiles and the pages they’d like, movies they’re into etc.

    It was a painstaking process in many ways, but the deeper you go into the research, the better your creatives tend to be.

Technology has advanced these days and if you’re an advertiser, it’s sort of like being a kid at Disneyland.
