Yesterday I found myself roaming around my local botanical gardens - as I often do.

Sun shining, people enjoying the warm spring air and laughing.

Birds competing for my attention and crumbs.

In spite of the busyness with tourists and folks venturing around me, I found a quiet spot.

My latest audible option rolling and a small red-velvet cake I’d nabbed from the local cafe moments earlier.

Sounds so simple, but this moment was one of absolute bliss.

The week prior I was gallivanting around New Zealand visiting relatives and seeing sights.

Blessed, but to tell that without the context of the work, sacrifice, long hours, self-doubts, failures, account closures, trolls, stolen deals, broken tech and everything in between would be remiss…

The problem with what we see online is it often betrays the truth.

That there’s a shedload and more of hard work that goes into every success you see.

The problem with marketing is it’s designed to appeal to our innate desire for ‘getting stuff easy.’

The easier it seems, and the more believable the results seem for us, the more likely we are to be attracted to that very thing.

I' work hard in seasons.

I rest a lot in others.

I play.

I laugh.

I cook nice dinners and drink great wine.

I enjoy good conversation and helping folks hit their business.

The lesson for this is simple;

don’t stray from the hard work you need to do to live the life most others can’t.

A few years of focus will set you apart and on a trajectory you could only hope for not that long ago.

I know this, because I live it.

I’ve helped hundreds of others through this process too.

Commit to getting it.

….And don’t quit until you hit it.
